The Llamas
The Old Coach House has the unique position of being situated in a quiet corner of a llama farm!
Guests will be able to see one herd of llamas from the comfort of the cottage, the second herd are a short walk up the lane.
Whilst we cannot let guests roam freely amongst the llamas, we are very keen to share them with you and offer all our guests the chance to have a guided introduction to them all, with the chance to feed them, groom them and maybe even take a couple of llamas for a short walk around the block!
We also have smaller pets - a rabbit and some guinea pigs that our smaller guests may enjoy meeting!
Local Wildlife
Nature-loving guests will not be disappointed with the abundance of wildlife that can be spotted during their stay. We have a huge variety of wild birds in and around the garden of the Old Coach House- including the cheeky swallows that perform acrobatics over the garden and are so much a part of the summers in Netlebridge, that they've become our logo for the cottage! Bats can also be seen flying high above your heads in the summer months, whilst rabbits, foxes and deer can regularly be seen in the lane and surrounding fields.
We encourage a variety of bees, butterflies and insects into the area with considered planting and sporadic weeding; whilst horses, sheep, chickens, cows, goats, cats and geese can all be spotted in the surrounding fields from the windows of the cottage.
If you explore Harridge Woods Nature Reserve at the top of the lane or follow the footpaths through the fields beyond the llamas, you may also spot badgers, frogs and toads, hear the owls hooting in the evenings and may even see an otter or kingfishers around the stream in the woods.
An eco-friendly, sustainable holiday?
We employed traditional building methods and local craftsmen to restore the building and reclaimed and re-used building materials wherever possible during the conversion.
Now we're up and running we use eco-friendly cleaning products, leave locally sourced produce for your welcome pack and have refillable hand soaps to limit our use of single use plastics. We obviously recycle as much as we possibly can and even have a zero-landfill policy for all the rubbish created.
